I love my family first and foremost. Then my country, and then this magical, maddening sport.
I spend thousands of hours on the ballfield with my son - I don't like to miss a practice, much less a game! I hope that I am a source of inspiration for my son, not a source of aggravation. He told me a couple of years ago that he wanted to go "all the way" in baseball - he's shootin' for the stars. I promised him I'd help him for as long as his heart was in it, and as long as he gave 100%. We're still going strong.
I am increasingly aware of the dwindling time I have left before my son leaves home - 4 years and counting. This time is precious and I treasure it fully. I'm thrilled that I get to share his hopes, dreams, trials, and accomplishments in this sport. I'd never trade a minute for anything else.
